Hello, my name is Myles Tyrrell and I am a professional piano teacher and session musician based in Southampton.
I tutor students of all ages and abilities and my lessons seek to enthuse, encourage and inspire my pupils, as well as to stimulate and challenge!
I can travel to my student's houses to teach them, helping them to learn in their own environment - as well as teaching from my teaching space located in the Southampton, SO14 5BQ if that suits better.
I pride myself on making sure my lessons are always enjoyable for all of my students.

If you're looking for an enthusiastic and able piano teacher who will engage and inspire you then I am the teacher for you.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
Check out the prices page for more information about the cost of lessons.Most students will take weekly lessons, however, some prefer to be taught fortnightly. Beginners usually will begin on half-hourly lessons, where more advanced players will benefit from having a full hour lesson - however, I'm happy with whatever works best for you!

Flexibility is at the heart of my curriculum. I am able to teach any style, from classical to contemporary, so rest assured that whatever your demands are, I will be able to meet them! I also pride myself on my ability to teach anybody, whatever their level of proficiency on the piano. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned professional, I am confident that I will be able to help you improve.

My lessons are currently charged at £20 per half hour and £35 per hour for all students.
I teach most of my lessons from a dedicated teaching space in Southampton, SO14 5BQ. I am also a mobile piano tutor so can travel to you to teach the piano should you prefer to learn at home. Learning from home provides a familiar environment for new pupils, and I find it is the best way to work with my pupils and their busy schedules. If preferred, I do have a comfortable environment to teach in at my teaching space located in my teaching space. A small charge may be incurred by those who live slightly further afield requiring lessons at home, in order to help cover travel expenses. If this is the case, a quote will be given well in advance of lessons.
I offer my lessons to students of all ages in a wide range of genres.
If you are unable to make a lesson, I request that you give me 24 hours notice. We can then simply rearrange the lesson for a more convenient time, or hold off until your next scheduled lesson. Unfortunately, if less than 24 hours notice is given, the full lesson amount will be charged.
